Casual Friday | Transitions, Tray Styling, Fav Pens, Organized Dinners, Etc.

Hey, friends! Today is Casual Friday, a place where I share the things I’m loving right now and what I’ve been up to lately. I’d love to hear in the comments what you’ve been loving recently! I always like learning about new goodies, recipes, podcasts, books, etc.

This past month has been a complete blur in my world! We’ve been faced with some unexpected changes and exciting happenings this month and have been working on overdrive because of it all. After owning a retail store for the past three years (selling video games), David and I made the tough decision to close its doors. We learned so much from our foray into entrepreneurship and are sad to let it go, but also excited about the possibilities it opens up for us. I don’t normally work at our store regularly, but have been spending a LOT of time there these past few weeks to prepare for our going out of business sale.

I hope April has been a little less hectic for you than it has for us! Now, onto some of my favorite things….

I’m obsessed with this little tray of aqua things. I added it to a side table in our living room for spring. Trays make it easy to create little vignettes, just place three items of varying sizes on it. I found this tray on clearance at Target last year and love the blue and white! The aqua jar is actually a utensil holder from TJ Maxx, I just turned it so the word “utensils” faces the wall and filled it with a few artificial peonies. I added a little aqua ceramic bird from Michaels (too cute to pass up!) and a candle tin with a blue and white label.

I am obsessed with the The Good Wife! Have you watched this show? It’s SO good! I’ve been sneaking in an episode or two whenever I can find the time. What have you been watching lately?

I’m in love with that blue watercolor throw pillow in the middle of the couch photo above. Isn’t it pretty? You can get it on Amazon. If you missed my spring living room tour, you can go check it out here. All those colorful throw pillows make me so happy!

I opted to skip this spring’s One Room Challenge, but that hasn’t stopped me from following along with everyone else’s progress! There are 244 room transformations linked up with progress reports this week, which is week three. If you love a good before and after, you’ll enjoy following along as these room makeovers near the finish line.

I made deviled eggs for Easter and they were delish! I dusted them with paprika and crumbled bacon on top. They were definitely a crowd pleaser! You really can’t go wrong with bacon, in my opinion.

What have you been digging lately? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Friday,
