Pretty blue and grey living room and cute puppy!

Casual Friday | Fav YouTuber, A Time-Saving Email Tip, Navy Shiplap, Etc.

Hey, friends! I’m sharing a quick Casual Friday post today, a place where I share the things I’m loving right now and what I’ve been up to lately. I’d love to hear in the comments what you’ve been loving lately! I always like learning about new goodies, podcasts, etc.

David and I decided it would be fun to make homemade desserts for each other every month or so. Neither of us enjoy spending time in the kitchen (there’s a reason I’m not a food blogger!), so it’s a good challenge for us to slow down and try out some new recipes! I’m hoping this will become a fun tradition of ours, although I’ll admit it’s been over a month and we haven’t started planning our next bake off yet. We each chose a secret recipe and surprised the other with our creations!

I made these delicious mini key lime cheescake jars. I feel like it’s cheating a bit since it didn’t even require baking, but I’d say I get points for presentation! This was my kind of dessert where you get to use cute jars and make them look pretty. Then I pretended I was a food blogger and took a hundred or so photos before we devoured them ;).

These mini key lime pies are so stinkin' adorable inside those tiny mason jars! How pretty and easy too. I'm all about no bake desserts ;).

David turned a boxed cake mix into a yummy champagne cake complete with frosting. It tasted great and I think it was pretty easy to make! He tried to up my presentation skills by asking me for a pretty platter to put it on ;). Nice try David, but I’m pretty sure we all know who won this competition!

This girl’s YouTube channel is packed with soooo many great organization tips! Everything is budget-friendly and practical. I’ve been watching a lot of them lately!

The Fringe Hours is a book all about helping you find little pockets of time in your day for the things you love. I don’t even know how this is possible, but the paperback version is only $1.15 + shipping on Amazon right now! The message is so important for women to hear and it’s on my list of top self-help books.

I binge watched my way through Madame Secretary a few weeks ago. It was SO GOOD! I’m now engrossed in the show Damages.

My friend Emily added a gorgeous navy blue shiplap feature wall above her fireplace and I’m amazed at the transformation it made in her living room.

These little painter’s pyramids are a recent purchase and I’m impressed with how useful they are! They’re so cheap that it’s worth picking up a pack or two if you paint a lot of furniture.

I found the Hey, Katie Lee blog a couple months ago and her Facebook live episodes are really good! You’ll love Katie’s tips on productivity, banishing busyness and designing a life you love. Lots of practical and down-to-earth advice.

This pantry stopped me in my Pinterest tracks the other day! An uber organized pantry + beautiful barn doors + a huge chalkboard wall.

You all have been loving this week’s blog post about how I organized our video game gear and TV stand. If you missed it, catch up here.

I’ve been using the free Boomerang Gmail App a lot lately. It lets you schedule emails to send at a later time and reminds you to follow up on any emails that don’t get replies.

Our puppy continues to keep us entertained! We adopted Freya the day after Christmas and she turns 5 months old tomorrow! She’s getting so big already! She loves to pounce on ice cubes, steal laundry out of the clothes basket and swipe anything she can snag off the edge of the kitchen counters. Having a puppy has been sooo fun!

Have a wonderful weekend, friend!
