Updating The Patio – Aqua and Navy Patio Style

There’s a small slab of concrete in front of our house that I’ve been itching to transform into a patio ever since we bought this house three years ago. Other house projects have topped the priority list so far, but now it’s finally the patio’s turn for some attention!

One of my house goals for this year is to improve curb appeal by tackling some outdoor projects, and this patio is at the top of that list. Here’s what our patio looks like right now:

Besides adding that old bench, a hand-me-down from my grandma, it has been completely neglected. It’s not a huge space by any means, but there’s room for a cute little seating area. The warm summer weather is calling my name, and I’m so excited to spruce up this little space over the next few weeks!

I often daydream about decorating this little patio, so it’s no surprise I have several designs in mind. I have secret Pinterest boards for every room in our house, including the patio, and save my favorite ideas to them. Now that it’s finally time to work on the patio, I am sorting through all of that inspiration to narrow it down to a cohesive style. (Check out my post on how to plan a room makeover using Pinterest to learn more about my process.)

Aqua And Navy Patio Style

I have finally decided on a direction and want to share my aqua and navy patio mood board with you today. You probably already know that I am a sucker for all things blue, so this color scheme should come as no surprise! I considered brighter colors since an outdoor space is the perfect opportunity to play around with color, but I kept coming back to more beachy aquas and blues. I may add in pops of color with flower pots or something, but we’ll see how this aqua and navy patio progresses!I'm loving this aqua and navy patio design! Such a pretty style for a budget friendly deck or outdoor space. Definitely saving this mood board!

1 String Lights  |  2 Throw Blanket  |  3 Garden Stool  |  4 Umbrella  |  5 Chair Cushion  |  6 Navy Throw Pillow  |  7 Striped Throw Pillow  |  8 Outdoor Rug  |  9 Dinnerware  |  10 Ceramic Flower Pot

I’m working with a tight budget for this project, so I will not purchase everything from this mood board. But I still love creating one for the sake of narrowing my focus.

I did already buy those aqua chair cushions and that striped umbrella, and I’m in love! Can you believe those items are both from WalMart?! That black and white umbrella is so pretty – I am smitten with anything striped these days! And those cushions are very comfy and a great way to spruce up our old patio chairs.

I’ll be checking in with patio updates as I work on projects over the next few weeks. I can hardly wait to share the finished space!

Do you have an outdoor space that needs sprucing up?

Happy decorating!
