I hopped in my car on a sunny Saturday morning earlier this summer to explore a part of Iowa I had never spent much time in. With my sunglasses on and the radio blasting, I cruised up to Webster City in northern Iowa, a city I’ve never visited despite being a lifelong Iowan. It’s always fun to explore new things in your own backyard, isn’t it?
I was headed to a copper repousse workshop, something I’d never even heard of before! I love hands-on workshops and was curious to find out exactly what copper repousse even was.
I’m not typically one to step outside my comfort zone, but I’m so glad I did that weekend! I learned a really cool new art technique, explored a cute little city and came home with a new piece of art.
I’m excited to be sharing all about my creative retreat to northern Iowa over at TravelIowa.com as part of their Made In Iowa series! This partnership with the Iowa Tourism Office was a great chance to get out and explore a new part of our state.
Iowa really is more than cornfields, and you will discover all sorts of amazing things to experience and eat at TravelIowa.com. Head here to read my post about Legacy Learning Boone River Valley.Â
Enjoy your day!
This Iowa experience was sponsored by the Iowa Tourism Office. All opinions of this amazing state are 100% my own!
What a cool place! I’ve heard a lot of great things and neat workshops offered there.
It was so fun! They offer a huge variety of hands-on workshops so there are definitely topics for everyone!
