I have a super pretty DIY gift idea for you today! Whether your mom’s birthday is coming up or you want to gift something a friend who’s a new mom, there are so many occasions where a DIY relaxation gift basket will make the perfect gift.
When I learned that the Mrs. Meyer’s® brand was creating a new line of personal care products, I jumped at the chance to give them a try. I’m hooked on their cleaning products and knew their new body washes and bar soaps would be equally amazing!
I picked up a few scents at my local Target and I really wish I could share a scratch-n-sniff blog post because these garden-inspired scents are absolutely divine. Definitely plan to check them out the next time you’re at Target.
Not only do Mrs. Meyer’s® brand products smell pretty but they look pretty, too! I’m a huge fan of pretty packaging and their new bar soap and body wash come in such beautiful colors. The colorful packaging makes them perfect to give as gifts!

You’ll want to print these on a white cardstock and cut them out with scissors, using a hole punch to make a hole at the top of the tags. If you don’t have a nice color printer at home, try your local print shop or office supply store.
I like to attach the small printable gift tags to the gift basket or individual gift items. The larger printable looks pretty as is or use it as a little card to write a handwritten note to the recipient.
Paint Your Flower Pot
To create your own DIY relaxation gift basket, begin by painting your a terra cotta flower pot with white craft paint. A simple foam paint brush works great for this step. Paint dries very quickly on terra cotta so you won’t have to allow much time for drying! I painted two coats on my pots.
I found an 8-inch terra cotta azalea pot that was the perfect size to use as the container of this gift basket. These azalea pots are slightly shorter than your average flower pot which works out perfectly for a gift basket.
Assemble The Gift Basket
Here’s a quick look at how I assembled this DIY relaxation gift basket. Written instructions are below!
1 | Fill The Pot With Tissue Paper
Great gift baskets are arranged so you can see all of the pretty items inside and this is where the tissue paper comes in. Fill the bottom half of your flower pot with crumpled balls of tissue paper (plastic grocery bags also work well).
Cover the crumpled paper with a nice sheet of tissue paper folded to fit the size of the pot. Use a coordinating color of tissue paper for a polished look!
2 | Add A Gift Tag
Wrap the rim of the flower pot a couple times with string or baker’s twine and knot the ends. Add a gift tag and tie the ends of the string into a bow.
3 | Fill With Gift Items
Arrange your gift items neatly within the flower pot. Start with the taller items in the back and layer the smaller items in front. Tuck small bits of tissue paper underneath items to lift them up a bit higher if you need.
4 | Tuck In Greenery
To add a bit of freshness to this garden-inspired relaxation gift basket idea, I tucked bits of greenery behind and in between the gift items. I literally snipped these small branches from a bush in front of our house!
You may not have this exact greenery in your yard, but look around and see if you have any pretty branches, leaves or flowers. I love using free greenery from my yard! You could also use real or faux flowers.
Aren’t these garden-inspired relaxation gift baskets beautiful? Mrs. Meyer’s® brand packaging combined with color-coordinated gift tags creates such a sweet DIY gift.
Mrs. Meyer’s® bar soap and Mrs. Meyer’s® body wash are amazing gifts not only because they smell amazing and look pretty, but they’re also thoughtfully formulated with essential oils and plant-derived ingredients. These products are perfect for adding a bit of luxury to your everyday shower.
