Today I’m sharing the first project I’ve created using my Silhouette Portrait. And I’m super excited to be participating in a monthly Silhouette Challenge, so you’ll find links to 26 other fun projects by my blogger friends at the end of this post. The theme for this month’s challenge is ‘Print & Cut’, which is a nifty Silhouette feature.
Silhouettes are really fun tools and definitely up your crafting game. I downloaded the cut file for these cute drink straw flags from the Silhouette Design Store, opened it in my Silhouette software, and simply cut the designs out on pink cardstock.
To follow the theme for this month, I tried out the print and cut feature on my Silhouette to make this milk bottle wrap. This basically means you can print any design on your regular printer, and then your Silhouette will make a perfect cut around it. I didn’t get too fancy with my first attempt, but I managed to cut out this wrap for the milk bottle.
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I decided to create some sugary goodness to go along with the milk. I dipped wafers into melted almond bark, sprinkled some colored sugar on top, and tied them up with pretty string. I think they turned out darling, don’t you?
With a few little touches, you can make a pretty Valentine’s treat for your kids or loved one. Wouldn’t you love to receive a milk and cookies Valentine? I sure would!
