It’s here! It’s here! I’m super excited to introduce you to the brand new look of the Small Stuff Counts.
Just like your decorating style changes and your home evolves, so does this blog. And we were long overdue for some updates! The last time I implemented a new design around here was early 2016 which was only a couple years ago, but I’d say blog years are the equivalent of dog years. As technology changes and I personally learn more about websites and blogging, it has become more and more clear that this website needed a redesign.
Instead of writing a long post with all of my thoughts on the new design, I decided to record a little video tour for you instead. Watch the video for a look around and learn my thoughts behind the changes.
For those interested, I chose the Captivating theme by Restored 316. They design the prettiest blog templates I’ve ever seen, and I’ve dreamed of moving to one of theirs for years. My only hesitation with this theme was that there are a lot of home and DIY bloggers using this same one, but in the end, I decided to move forward with it because it met all of my criteria and I knew I could put my own spin on it.
My new logo is my talented sister’s creation! I’m really excited about the new colors and branding throughout the site and I feel like the logo is more polished, more modern and more me than the old one I designed years ago.
I hope you enjoy the new look as much as I do! Like I mentioned in the video, no tech project is without hiccups so if you come across anything that looks wonky or acts weird, please let me know. There are a few smaller tweaks I want to make yet and some little things I need to fix, but overall I think everything is working properly and I’m so happy with it.
So what do you think?! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Happy Friday, friends!
