What Can You Make With The Worx MakerX Crafting Tools?

Curious what kinds of projects you can make with the Worx MakerX crafting tools? You’ll be amazed at all the things these small tools can create!

This post was sponsored by Worx Tools as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central but all opinions and ideas expressed in my post are my own.

2020 may not be the year we expected, but one of the coolest things I’ve seen come out of this year has been so many people trying new creative hobbies and rekindling hobbies they haven’t done in ages. It’s exciting to see people discovering a love for crafting and DIY!

I’ve always been a crafter and DIYer, and I channel most of my creativity into home improvement and organizing projects these days. But I’m really craving a new creative hobby I can learn this winter.

So when an opportunity came along to try out the new Worx MakerX tools, I thought “why not?”. I wasn’t 100% sure what all the MakerX tools could do, but they have dozens of capabilities including wood burning, glass etching, soldering, and airbrushing–all things I’ve never tried before! It sounded like the perfect way to stretch my creativity.

I’ll be testing out the capabilities of the MakerX tools and creating a DIY gift over the next month, but for today I wanted to share a quick overview of what the MakerX is and what it can do. Spoiler alert: These crafting tools are ridiculously cool and they do so many different things!

What Is The MakerX?

The new MakerX is a set of go-anywhere crafting tools that are perfect for crafters, tinkerers, and DIYers. These are five compact tools, including an airbrush, angle grinder, mini heat gun, rotary tool, and wood and metal crafter. All of these tools plug into the same power hub which is battery-powered so you can literally create anywhere!

If this is your first time hearing about the MakerX, here’s a quick video overview that shows each tool in action. Aren’t they cool?

What Kinds Of Things Can You Make With The MakerX?

You guys, the MakerX has SO MANY capabilities! With five different tools and dozens of attachments for them, I’ve barely scratched the surface of what they can do. If you are crafty, creative, or like to tinker, I think you’ll find so many reasons to love the MakerX.

Here’s a rundown of some of the things each of the MakerX tools can do:

  • Airbrush – Great for painting small, detailed projects where you need a lot of control and precision.
  • Wood & Metal Crafter – You can do wood-burning, soldering, and metalworking projects with this nifty tool.
  • Rotary Tool – This has a fast-spinning tip that can be used for grinding, sanding, and polishing a variety of materials like wood.
  • Angle Grinder – Use this to grind metal and cut tile. It is also useful for sanding, polishing and sharpening projects and makes quick work of removing rust and loose paint.
  • Mini Heat Gun – Heat guns can be helpful for drying paint quickly as well as embossing, loosening paint, softening adhesives, and shrink wrapping.

What Project Am I Making First?

Honestly? I have a lot of ideas but since I’m new to these tools, I’m still figuring out the specifics! \’m going to be learning these tools live on Instagram Stories in the coming weeks (are you following along?) with the goal of being able to personalize several items to include in a cute gift basket.

My plan is to etch wine glasses, wood burn wooden spoons, engrave or wood burn a cutting board, and maybe we’ll discover some other cool things to make while we’re at it! We’ll use the heat gun to shrink-wrap our gift basket and the end result will be a beautiful gift for couples, newlyweds, or new homeowners.

The Power Of X Contest

To celebrate the launch of the new MakerX, Worx is hosting a contest and giving away cash prizes (up to $5,000!!).
